GENERAL INFORMATION

ORDERING - Distributors may place orders in writing by e-mail to artroom@magnuspen.com, by fax, or by mail complete with artwork. To avoid duplication, please use one of these methods only. Verbal orders are not accepted PO's should be on customer's official PO form or company letterhead. Order acknowledgements will be sent automatically by e-mail or by fax. It is the distributor's responsibility to check for accuracy and advise Magnus of any omissions or errors. The PO should include Customer's name, address, phone number, Fax number, email address, PO number, Item name/number, unit price, quantity, item colour, imprint colour/colours, imprint location, paperproof required yes/no, ship method, ship to address, in-hands or ship date and any other necessary information.

REPEAT ORDERS - Please reference previous purchase order number, invoice number or job number. Please note that for repeat orders more than two years old, new artwork is required. On Repeat Orders first setup is at no charge. If your art work is changing even slightly please indicate your order is repeat with change.

ORDER CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS - Changes or cancellation of a purchase order are required in writing and must be acknowledged by Magnus for the change to become effective. If a customer does not receive confirmation of the change/cancellation, it may not have been received. It may not be possible to cancel some order contact customer service prior to sending your order change/cancellation.

RUSH SERVICE - There are no additional charge for a rush orders. If it is possible WE CAN DO IT. No paper proof on rush orders. Rush orders required camera ready artwork and are subject to credit approval. Please advise customer service when you submit a rush order.

PRICING - Prices in this catalogue are effective from February 1, 2013. All prices are subject to change without notice. Price includes a one colour imprint in one location. If a price is not included on your purchase order standard catalogue pricing will be applied. Magnus is not responsible for any incorrect pricing, product, production time or discrepancies found on 3rd party databases, website, catalogues or flyers.

CO-OP & OFFSHORE ORDERS - Contact Magnus for quotes on larger quantities, offshore orders, Co-op and Program orders. Purchase order for Co-op must include Magnus quote number.

TERMS - Net 30 days. 1% - 10 days for established distributors paying by cash or cheque only. All orders are prepaid until credit is established.We accept Visa, Master Card, America Express and Email Money transfers. Payment by credit card after 10 days will incur a 3% service charge. All orders are subject to credit approval. Contact the credit department for more details.

RETURNS - A request for return or refund should be in writing, returns must be authorized by Magnus. Please call Customer Service for a Return Authorization number. Refusing, abandoning or sending back a shipment without prior Magnus approval does not constitute an approval by Magnus. Merchandise found to be incorrect due to our error is replaced. No credit will be issued for merchandise that is unavailable for return. Credits are issued for the actual quantity returned. Samples cannot be returned. All issues must be reported in writing within 90 days from order ship/invoice date.

AVAILABLE INVENTORY - Inventory is on a first come, first serve basis. Inventory cannot be placed on hold without a written purchase order.

ARTWORK - Please forward all artwork to artroom@magnuspen.com referencing your company name, and P/O. number in the subject line. Please indicate on your P/O that artwork has been sent via email. We accept CorelDraw13 & below, Illustrator CS3 & below & EPS, PDF, vectored artwork as well as high resolution (600dpi) JPG OR TIFF files in black and white. Microsoft word documents and PowerPoint presentation files are not graphic programs and are not acceptable file formats. If artwork requires modification, we will advise of any costs before proceeding. Free typesetting is available provide typewritten copy, layout and font required, otherwise art will be completed at our discretion. Artwork sent larger than Magnus maximum imprint area will be sized to fit our maximum area without notice.

DIGITAL PRINTING (Magnets) - Allow full colour imprints, your price includes halftones, gradients and multi coloured logos. Art should be supplied as digital art in CMYK mode. Please DO NOT send printed pieces as art. Photos are requires high resolution imaging and colour correction will delay your ship date, All RASTAR images must be supplied at 300 dpi (1200 dpi for bitmaps).

IMPRINT LOCATION - Imprint location on pens is specified in the catalogue description. If location is not specified Magnus Pen will use its discretion. For any other location, please check with Magnus for possible additional charges.

MINIMUM LINE WEIGHTS & TYPE SIZES - Keep all lines .5 point or thicker. Text can be as small as 6 point on all pens. Anything smaller will not be legible.

LAYOUTS - Always provide a layout and a hard copy of your art.



CLIP/CAP IMPRINT - One colour $40.00 (G) setup plus $0.15 (G) running charge. Additional colours $40.00 (G) setup plus $0.15 (G) running charge per colour. Additional location charge, see product pages for information.

PAPER PROOF - One black and white paper proof will be supplied upon request only at NO CHARGE via email or fax. Additional proofs $10.00 (E) please allow an additional 2 days for Paper Proofs and 24 hours for changes to Paper Proof. Colour paper proofs $15 (G). Allow for additional time on your ship date when proofing in colour. Colour proof may not be an exact match to final product.

Artwork Approvals - The prompt approval of paper proof and product proof are critical to meeting delivery dated. If approvals are delayed, a rush or expedited freight charge may apply at customer's expense to meet a specific delivery date. Paper proof must be approved within 24 hours of receipt/time sent to hold production time or inventory. Email your art approvals to artproof@magnuspen.com.

LASER ENGRAVING (Metal & Wood) - Where laser engraving is not included in the price, repetitive Copy (Logo or type) $.60 (C) running charge, plus $30.00(C) for setup charge on new logo. Black oxidization is available on specific metal pens $0.50 (C). Due to product variation laser product underlay finish may differ from trim Colour (silver products).

Larger Laser Engraving area (metal pens only) $1.10(C) running charge plus logo setup $30.00 (C) when applicable standard size only maximum 1/2" width x 1 3/4" in length.

360 Degree Laser Engraving - Please contact Customer Service for a size and quote.

MULTI COLOUR/MULTI LOCATION IMPRINT - A minimum of 250 pieces are required. For first colour Set up charge (screen printing) add $20.00 (C). Each additional colour/location add $15.00 (G) setup plus $0.15 (G) running charge per colour/location. Repeat orders are subject to the above charges.

COPY CHANGE OR IMPRINT COLOUR CHANGE - $15.00 (G). Must be minimum of 50% of our catalogue first column quantity.

SPEC PRE-PRODUCTION IMPRINTED SAMPLE - $40.00 (G) plus the product cost and any additional charges at EQP. For spec pre-production lasered sample, please contact Customer Service. Please allow an additional 5 working days for samples. These charges are non refundable.

LESS THAN MINIMUM ORDER - Minimum order is as listed in catalogue. Absolute minimum 50% of first quantity additional charge $40.00 (G) applies.

CLEARANCE ITEMS - Inventory is sold on a first come first serve basis and stock will not be held in reserve. A substitute item will not be offered for items that are sold out.

SHIPPING - If you have a carrier of choice please indicate on your purchase order with carrier account number, account holder name and address. USA customers please provide your FID number. If not specified, we will use our preferred carrier. All shipments are FOB Scarborough plant including pick-up orders. Split shipments are $15.00 (G) per location. Changes to shipping must be in writing and be submitted 48 hours prior to the shipping of your order. Ground and air parcel service rates are subject to change without notice. Due to fluctuation in fuel prices, if surcharges or accessorial charges are incurred, these will added to the existing freight charges. Magnus reserve to right to change carrier and service level without notice. Magnus will not be responsible for lost or damaged products or for tracking of product ship by mail. Any claims concerning lost delayed or damaged product must be made directly to the carrier. Magnus cannot assume responsibility for time delays in transit. Magnus responsibility ceases when the product is delivered to the carrier. C.O.D ship is not available. Split/drop shipment charges add $15 (G). Split/drop shipment at no charge cannot be less than the catalogue minimum quantity and are treated as individual orders.

DOMESTIC PRODUCTION TIME - Pens 2-4 working days from the time the artwork, spec pre-production and credit proofs are approved. Orders received after 2:00 PM is considered the following day. The day you order is received does not count as a working day.

GUARANTEE - Magnus Guarantees all our products for imprint quality and against manufacturer's defects. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. All imprint quality and product defects must be reported 90 days from order ship date.

OVERRUNS AND UNDERUNS - We print exact quantities only, no additional charge.

CATALOGUE ILLUSTRATIONS - in this catalogue, we have illustrated some of our products with various trademarks. It is not our intention to misrepresent or misuse any trademark. We do this for illustration purposes only. Product colours and product size shown in this catalogue may vary slightly from actual products due to catalogue printing process, inherent limitations in photography and film separation and printing.

UNIMPRINTED MERCHANDISE OR SAMPLES - Any products ordered without imprint will be invoiced at EQP -5%.

SPECIAL PACKAGE + REFILL CHANGES - Please allow 2 additional working days for production. Refill change on metal pen (except WestPoint) add $.40 (C) plastic pens add $.25 (C). Refill purchases add $.55 (c) metal pens and $.20 (C) plastic pens. Special packaging 10-50 pens add $0.03 (G) 51-100 pens add $0.02 (G) 101-300 add $.01 (G)

STANDARD SELECTIONS - The ink specified in our catalogue will be supplied for a product. Additional ink options on select product are available. Additional lead-time and charges applies. You may take advantage of our product colour selection by choosing various colours for an item. Imprint colour on various colour selections should be the same.

OFFSHORE PRODUCTION ORDERS


All of the products in our catalogue which are sourced from overseas can be purchased by the distributor in larger quantities at preferred pricing. Yes a large quantity purchase (5,000 metal pens 10,000 plastic pens) will be decorated overseas under quality control and Magnus Guarantee. Allow six weeks (Air Freight) and twelve weeks (by Sea) from the time the artwork and spec [re-production proofs are approved.

FACTORY CHANGES - Prices, items and colours, terms and condition are subject to change or can be discontinued without notice.

MAGNUS DYNASTY SERIES - Foil imprint first position running is at no charge. Stamping die maximum of 8 squared inches add: $75.00 (C) add $10.00 (C) for each additional square inch. We will always select GOLD foil unless otherwise specified. Pantone colour match cannot be provided we will proof closest colour.

PRICING INCLUDES

CUSTOM CALENDARS - Minimum order 10,000 calendars. Only available on orders submitted by Sept 1, 2013. Call your CSR for details and quote

PRICING – Minimum order 100 calendars. Price includes one standard imprint colour only (see below for standard imprint colours). Additional calendars are sold in multiple of 25 only. Eg: 125, 150,175, 200. Two colour imprint set-up add $30.00 (E), plus running charge $0.25 (E) per. Minimum for two colour order is 150 calendars. Three & four colour imprint, only available until October 1st. Minimum 1000 pieces, 500 per title. Call your CSR for details and quote.

PRODUCTION READY ORDER – We must receive all of the following information for your order to be deemed production ready: artwork, ad copy layout, typestyle and size, item description, colour of imprint, quantity, shipping method, ship to address, ship date, approval of proof (if proof is requested or required) approval of credit or cash with order and special instructions etc... For programs or multiple imprints, we recommend individual orders.

ARTWORK – Please forward all orders and artwork to: artroom@magnuspen.com referencing your Company Name and P/O number in the subject line of your email. We accept Corel Draw. X3 and below and Illustrator CS5 & below (cdr, eps,ai, or pdf files must be converted to outlines/curves) as well as high resolution & high quality (600dpi) JPG or TIFF files in 100% black & white. Camera-ready black & white artwork (to size) is required. Typeset no charge please provide layout, otherwise artwork will be lay-out at our discretion. Please type your text to ensure accuracy. Artwork for multi-colour imprints must be supplied as vectored artwork on a white background.

ACCEPTED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS – Adobe Illustrator CS5 and CorelDraw X3 and prior (PC) (Used for page layout). Include: All files that have been placed or imported into your final layout. Fonts should be converted to outlines/curves (depending on file type). (Our graphic department is PC computer based, so we cannot use MAC fonts). Adobe Illustrator CS5 and CorelDraw X3 and prior (PC) (Used to create illustrations). Save files in the eps, cdr, ai or pdf format. Create OUTLINE/CURVES for all fonts used in the file. Adobe Photoshop CS5 and prior (PC) (Used for photo design). Save files in the tif format using a resolution of at least 600 dots (dpi) per inch at finished size. Photos must be submitted as 100% black (no CMYK colours). Failure to meet these listed guidelines can result in delays or additional costs to your order.

PRODUCTION TIME – After Sept. 14th - December 1st, allow 10-15 working days after art approval for one colour imprint; for two colour imprint allow 20 working days. All orders, regardless of date received at Magnus Pen Corp will be given scheduled ship dates after October 1st unless a date is specified on your order.

UNACCEPTABLE ART – Photo copies or art sent via Fax machine, multi coloured artwork, pre-printed material such as raised business cards, logos on coloured letter head, newspaper or yellow page ads. We will charge (at our mechanical rate) $60.00 per hour net to rework unacceptable artwork. No Reverse imprints.

BLACK & WHITE PHOTOS/HALFTONES – Add $30.00 (E). Charges apply to new and repeat orders. Halftones must be 50% or higher - sorry, we do not print gradients.

ENVELOPES – White Mailing Envelopes $.25 (E) not inserted, boxed and sold in 100, 150, 250 only. Envelope size 10 1/2 x 11 1/2”.
